Very rare Federal 6x4 truck, Australia

I am really surprised that there is not one Federal truck amongst all the trucks on your site. These trucks, like the one pictured, were very popular on interstate work in Australia in the 1950s. We had two in the Northern territory both powered by 5 cylinder Gardner diesels. The one I drove had a Clark gearbox not much good but Fuller boxes were very hard to get. The bonnet lifted up and the fenders swung out giving clear access to the engine. The only other Federals we had were ex-wartime tank carriers, similar to the Diamond "T"s, a little lighter and a little faster, like the Diamond "T', a nice looking truck. like picture #1387.

That's a fine looking truck. Must be bigger than it looks. What sort of weight does it carry?

The Gardner powered single drive one I drove hauled about 18 English (2,240lbs) tons on a tandem semi. Don mcGregor in Victoria knows the truck well, says it has a Perkins 6/354 diesel and lazy axle made from a White front axle. Not as big as it looks, slightly bigger than, say, a Bedford.
