Lendrums' Atkinson ex-Gritter in Fringford
A true classic still in use on the fair is this 1962 Atkinson, built as a 6x6 snowplough/gritting lorry for use on the expanding network of motorways. It first entered showland service with Austen Brothers Circus in the early 1980s and later passed to Oxfordshire showman Sid Lendrum who at some later stage removed the back axle to convert it into a 4x4. The vehicle was photographed in the village of Fringford in 2006, but is still in use in the 2010 season.
